PostgreSQL permission errors
Logical and physical backups need different privileges. Here is what to check.
Logical and physical backups have different permission requirements. Check:
- Whether the database role can connect.
- Whether it has sufficient privileges to read the selected objects.
- Whether the physical backup user has replication privileges.
- Whether server-level access is available for WAL configuration.
An ordinary application database role may not be sufficient for physical backup or WAL setup.
