Storage profiles
A storage profile defines a reusable S3 or S3-compatible backup destination.
A storage profile defines a reusable S3 or S3-compatible destination, identified by name. Registered storage is S3-only. Acrynite also supports one-time backups to a local filesystem path, which is not a registered profile.

Registered storage versus a one-time path
Use a registered storage profile (--storage) for destinations you reuse, such as a production S3 bucket. Use --path for a one-off local destination. The two options are mutually exclusive on a backup run.
